We had some terrific news on 8th Sept when our parliamentary candidate Theo Simon, and co-defendant Nikki Clark, were acquitted at Plymouth Magistrates Court.
The 'Trident Two' were on trial for blockading a gate to the Trident dock at Devonport last year. Theo and Nikki wanted to show in court that, while they were charged with preventing lawful work, the work on Trident nuclear weapons is in fact unlawful. Unfortunately, this important legal point was not resolved by the case - but Theo did get a chance to put his argument across in interviews with the BBC, ITV and the local press.
